Meditation cultivates awareness and deep listening that allow mind and heart to relax and open. Hula is a refreshing embodied practice that cultivates compassion, awareness, and care for your body and Nature. In Zen we say there’s no separation between you and the world, so when you meditate and when you dance, you nurture yourself and the world.
We’ll meditate and embody compassion through hula. This retreat is open to all levels.
Bring a chair for meditation and to use if you want to focus just on hand motions of the hula. You may also bring a cushion if you prefer sitting on the floor for meditation.
Dress comfortably ready for movement.
Bring notebook and pen for brief writing exercise.
