Workshop that combines Hawaiian dance of Hula with mindfulness meditation to build resilience through harmony of body, mind and heart.
Happy Chinese New Year of the Ox!!!
The Path of Hula and Zen continues with a workshop on Sunday Feb. 21st from 1:30 - 4:30 pm, that focuses on Courage. Just like the Ox, which symbolizes diligence, persistence and honesty our practice takes those same qualities to make it through tougher times. It takes courage to face adversity as well as yourself in something as simple as sitting on a cushion/chair or getting up to dance.
Meditation is about cultivating awareness and deep listening that allow the mind and heart to relax and open. Hula cultivates a deep listening and care of your body. In Zen we say there’s no separation between you and the world, so when you meditate and when you dance, you are not only benefitting yourself but also benefiting the world.
We’ll meditate, hula and do some writing practice to help connect our minds and bodies. This is the resilient Path of Hula and Zen.
Open to all levels. Scholarships available.
