Workshop that combines Hawaiian dance of Hula with mindfulness meditation to build resilience through harmony of body, mind and heart.
About this Event
2020 has been a tough year! How can we relax the mind, strengthen the body and heal the heart? Reconnecting to them is basic. This workshop will help you build reconnection and resilience through the practices of meditation and hula - the dance of the Hawaiian people. Both are practices that can help you reconnect to what’s important. And it can be fun!
You will reconnect to your body, your breath, and the earth in this workshop. Workshop includes
Mindfulness meditation basic instruction and practice
Basic self-care practices
Learn a hula about Kaiona, the Hawaiian Goddess of the Lost, who helps those who have lost their way.
This workshop is open to all levels. Bring a chair for meditation and to use if you want to focus just on hand motions of the hula. You may also bring a cushion if you prefer sitting on the floor for meditation. Dress comfortably ready for movement. Bring notebook and pen.
